The World is Quiet Here

Interesting ways to revise music.

• Revising Italian and German music terms for my exam tomorrow with little notes to try and remind me of what they mean. They got more and more far fetched but hopefully this will work.
• Attacca: Go straight on to the next section of music. (ATTACK the next section.)
• Dolente: Sad, mournful. (Lent makes people sad because they have to give up something they like.)
• Dolore: Grief. (Dolores has died, everyone's grieving.)
• Doloroso: Sorrowful. (Dolo rhymes with solo, going solo usually means they're lonely and this makes them sad.
• Lacrimoso: Sad. (Lac - lacking; when people are lacking in something, this makes them sad.)
• Loco: At normal pitch, cancels out 8va. (You'd be LOCO not to go at normal pitch.)
• Lusingando: Coaxing, in a sweet persuasive style. (Lusing sounds like lusting. Sad ugly people have to be sweet to coax people into bed.)
• Misura: Measure. (Sounds like it, I'm not that fucking stupid.)
• alla misura: Strict time. (Muslim countries are very strict and they worship Allah)
• senza misura: Free time. (La Senza sells underwear and I feel free when I wear my underwear.)
• Ossia: Or, alternatively. (You're the boss, BOSSIA, so you have a choice.)
• Piacevole: Pleasant. (Voles are very pleasant creatures.)
• Piangevole: Plaintive, in the style of a lament. (They both begin with P. That's all I've got.)
• Pochettino, poch: Rather little. (Pooch is a word for pocket, pockets are rather little and hold rather little things.)
• Smorzando, smorz.: Dying away in a tone and speed. (Smother the music and it'll die away.)
• Ausdruck: Expression. (Starstruck is an expression and the last four letters of both words are the same.)
• Frohlich: Cheerfull, joyful. (It sounds like frolic and I am always cheerful when I frolic.)
• Ohne: Without. (Do you want something? OH NO/OHNE, I'll do without.)
